Hudson Valley home inspections you can trust.

With more than 18 years of hands-on construction experience, Trade-Wise brings a practical understanding of how homes are built, how systems work together, and where problems are most likely to develop. Every inspection is approached with close attention to the conditions that can affect a home’s safety, performance, and long-term ownership costs.

Mid-Hudson Bridge from the water

Before founding Trade-Wise, we spent more than 18 years working hands-on in residential construction, restoration, repair, and property improvement. That experience came from solving real problems in real homes—tracking down leaks, repairing damage, rebuilding affected areas, and seeing firsthand how issues develop over time. We bring that practical perspective to every inspection.

Builder’s Insight

Years of hands-on work help us recognize where problems are likely to develop and when visible signs deserve a closer look.

A Practical Eye for Detail

Moisture & Drainage Awareness

Water problems often begin with drainage, grading, flashing, foundation conditions, or small leaks that worsen over time. We pay close attention to visible conditions that may contribute to moisture intrusion and document areas that may warrant repair or further evaluation.

Clear Priorities

Not every finding carries the same level of concern. We help distinguish significant defects and safety concerns from routine maintenance items so you can better understand what deserves attention first.

Regional Home Concerns

We look for the specific risks that affect homes here in the Hudson Valley.

A Solid Foundation

We review visible grading and drainage conditions that may lead to moisture or water intrusion risks.

Keeping Water Out

Moisture meters and thermal imaging may help identify areas where visible conditions suggest possible moisture concerns.

Safe Power Systems

We evaluate visible and accessible electrical components for defects and safety concerns.

Plumbing Systems

We inspect visible and accessible plumbing components for active leaks, damaged materials, improper installations, drainage concerns, and other conditions that may require repair or further evaluation.

Our Inspection Process

1

Tell Us About the Property — Provide the basic property information and let us know about any specific concerns.

2

Complete the Inspection — We evaluate the home's major visible and accessible systems and components.

3

Investigate Areas of Concern — When conditions warrant, tools such as thermal imaging and moisture meters may be used to take a closer look.

4

Review the Findings — We explain significant observations and help put the findings into perspective.

5

Receive Your Detailed Report — You'll receive a clear, photo-documented report outlining the conditions observed during the inspection.

Common Questions

A home inspection is a visual evaluation of the home's accessible systems and components. We look for defects, safety concerns, signs of damage, and conditions that may require repair, maintenance, or further evaluation.

How do you test for radon?

Radon Testing — Coming Soon. We are currently preparing this service for future launch and it is not available to book at this time.

What is included in a mold test?

Mold assessment and sampling are not currently operational services, though we may offer them in the future.

Do you use thermal imaging?

Yes. We use infrared tools to identify unusual surface-temperature patterns indicating moisture, insulation gaps, or air leaks that require a closer professional investigation.

How do you handle water intrusion?

We evaluate visible grading, drainage, and moisture-related conditions that could contribute to water intrusion. While we report on existing issues, we do not guarantee against future flooding.

What is your inspection process?

We follow a systematic process: initial consultation, on-site evaluation of visible systems using helpful tools, a detailed report, and a final walkthrough to put findings into perspective.
